Folding@home™ for PlayStation®3 Version 1.4

This document highlights some of the changes between versions 1.31 and 1.4 of Folding@home™ for the PlayStation®3 system.

To update Folding@home™ for the PS3™ system, simply restart the application and follow the on-screen update prompts.
During an update, do not turn off the PS3™ system or cause the software to quit by pressing the PS button.

PS3™ Ranking System

PS3™ system rankings are now available for the Folding@home™ channel when you have signed in to PlayStation®Network. You can see your PlayStation®Network ranking and current points by navigating to [Options] > [Leaderboard].

If you do not wish to participate in the PlayStation®Network rankings, from the Folding@home™ channel, navigate to [Options] > [Folding@home Settings].

Note: The rankings used with PlayStation®Network differ from those found on Stanford University's Folding@home™ website.

Support for Additional Protein Simulations

Additional computation cores are now supported. This allows Folding@home™ for PS3™ to support a wider range of protein-folding simulations.

Folding@home™ System Statistics

Statistics for your PS3™ system’s contribution to the Folding@home™ distributed computing network are now available. The following information about units processed on your system is tracked: work units that have been downloaded, work units that have awarded contribution points, work units that are awaiting upload, and work units that have been dropped due to timeout. You can see your PS3™ system’s statistics by navigating to [Options] > [Information] > [System Statistics].
